Clay is honesty

Clay leaves very little to hide behind once our creation is complete. The fire washes it clean.

The clay we make does not lie. That clay then creates the vessel through our fingers. We later have moments where we view the blank canvas in thought. Our imagination searches for what it must be to be its final true self.

We use our past experience to create our best vision. Brush or tool passes over the clay canvas. Once the vessel is in its firing place within the kiln, we hand over our control to the fire itself. What emerges will emerge.

Once the vessel emerges from the firing we see all its beauties and imperfections.

Those vessels that are not as imagined are good reminders for the future. Those that emerge as we imagine delight our souls and keep us striving and creating.
